			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.jamieousley.com/"><strong>Jamie Ousley</strong></a> is a bassist currently residing in south Florida. Originally from Tennessee, Jamie began music lessons at the age of 5 studying suzuki violin. He switched to bass at 12 in his middle school orchestra program. Bass was clearly the coolest of the stringed instruments, and remains so to this day!</p>
<p>Jamie has performed with many artists including: Ira Sullivan, Duffy Jackson, Dave Liebman, John Fedchock, Maria Schneider, Vince Mendoza, Jim McNeeley, George Sheering, Nestor Torres, James Moody, Bucky and John Pizzarelli, Carmen Lundy, Harry Allen, Bob Berg, Greg Abate, Eddie Higgins, Vic Damone, Annie Sellick, Arturo Sandoval, and Les DeMerle.<span id="more-5"></span></p>
<p>Jamie has had the pleasure of performing for many celebrities, dignitaries, and heads of state including: President Bill Clinton, Governor Jeb Bush, Prince Albert of Monaco, King Kigeli V of Rwanda, Prince Ermias Sahle Selassie of Ethiopia, Janet Jackson, Queen of wardrobe mishaps, Shirley MacLaine, Gloria Estefan, one of the backstreet boys, the Dalai Lama, and Heidi Klum, a personal favorite.</p>
<p>Jamie has studied the double bass with Patrick Simpson, Don Coffman, and Lucas Drew. He has received valued musical education from Chip McNeill, Whit Sidener, Vince Maggio, and Ira Sullivan.</p>
<p>Jamie has attended the following universities:</p>
<ul>
<li>B.A. (music major) from Virginia Tech.</li>
<li>M.M. (jazz performance) from University of Miami</li>
<li>*almost* D.M.A. (jazz performance) from University of Miami</li>
</ul>
<p>Current Venues: Sunday brunch at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gabels with Juan Areco and Jonny Mendoza. Wednesday and Thursday evenings at Periconne&#8217;s in downtown Miami with Jon Rose. Friday nights at Hotel Biba in West Palm Beach with SAMM.</p>
